After his postgraduate career started in 1991, he entered educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and a distance educational academy.
In 2009, he was a BJP MLA contested candidate for the Razole Assembly.
On 18th October 2012, he started SWARNNANDHRA MACTS Bank Ltd (under the AP Government) and SWARNNANDHRA Chit Funds Pvt Ltd (a corporate company).
He became the Chairman and Managing Director of the SWARNNANDHRA LNS Group. After that, he served as a BJP National Council Member in New Delhi from 2014 to 2019.
In 2019, he was a Teachers MLC contesting candidate for the East-West Godavari Zone. On January 9th, 2019, he joined the YSRCP in the presence of our beloved Chief Minister, Shri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and worked with the YSRCP from 2019 to 2022.
Since 2012, he has started many organizations, including SWARNNANDHRA Cooperative Society Bank Ltd, SWARNNANDHRA Chit Funds Pvt Ltd, S.S. Varmha Vehicle Financial Services, Vasundhara Real Estates & Constructions, Jaya Bharathi Matrimony, Amaravathi Distance Education, etc.
In 1999, he started a charitable trust with the concept of giving back to society. Through this trust, he has donated to various funds during times of natural calamities to the state and central governments. He has served many poor people in the East and West Godavari districts.
For these services, B.S. Moorthy received the Best Citizen Award in 2010, presented by Governor Shri Duvvuri Subbarao. The trust is now named SWARNNANDHRA Moorthy Charitable Trust.
